Fruit, Friends and Foes (You Will Be Persecuted)

John 15:18-16:3 (CSB)

“The blood of the martyrs is the seed of the church.” – Tertullian

  1. “If they persecuted me, they will persecute you.”
  2. “The world hated me and they will hate you!”
  3. The one who hates me also hates my Father.
  4. “I have told you these things to keep you from stumbling.

What should one do if we are being persecuted?

  1. Depend on the Counselor to help you.
  2. Cry out to God for deliverance!
  3. Get out of Dodge if you can!
  4. Keep the right perspective in the midst of it all!
    1. Don’t forget God will be just
    2. Don’t forget that this is not the final act
  5. Love your enemies and pray for your persecutors.

We are to be different!

Let us not forget our brothers and sisters who are suffering today for the cause of Jesus.
