Belonging
Everyone wants to belong to something or someone greater than themselves. Which one of us can not appreciate the theme song from the long running TV show ‘Cheer’s?’
"Sometimes you want to go
Where everybody knows your name,
and they're always glad you came.
You wanna be where you can see,
our troubles are all the same
You wanna be where everybody knows Your name."
We long for Bacon’s Castle to be a place where you can connect to a family who really wants to know your name and is so very glad you came!
Every church needs to have a celebration time where they come together and worship the Lord Jesus and celebrate his incredible love and awesomeness. For Bacon’s Castle, we do that on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. We sing! We pray! We testify to the goodness of God. But the truth is the big meeting isn’t really a time to connect. It is said that if folks don’t make friends in the first few months of being in a church, they won’t stay. But friendships are made in more intimate settings so we have provided numerous small groups for people to connect.
On Sunday morning we have numerous small groups that meet at 9:30 a.m. where you can get to know people’s names and even more! These small groups are built mainly around Bible study and sharing and vary in size from just a few to as many as fifteen to twenty. Then during the week we have several other small groups which we call ‘home groups.’ Home Groups, as the name implies, meet in the homes of people in the group and the main goal in these gatherings is friendship and encouragement. Here’s a place for folks to get to know you and so much more than just your name!
Are you looking for a place to connect? Wouldn’t you like to find a place where you can belong and people will help you along the journey of life? Come give the Bacon’s Castle family a chance. We’re not perfect, but for many of us doing life together is where it counts.
